On Tuesday, October 15th, SPITZKE made a stop at our large-scale project Ammersee rail. Over 50 students from the Munich University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule München) had the opportunity to experience railway construction and modern rail infrastructure live.
The main point of interest was the subgrade rehabilitation and cleaning machine RPM-RS-900, nicknamed “Katharina the Great”, which was in use on-site. SPITZKE is currently carrying out extensive renovation work between Geltendorf and Weilheim on behalf of Deutsche Bahn, predominantly using an assembly-line process. In addition to the RPM-RS-900, the SPITZKE track renewal train UM-S 2001 and the ballast cleaning machine RM 900 S are also involved (learn more here).
In addition to the impressive technology, the focus was on the professional exchange between the students and SPITZKE’s specialists. SPITZKE live offers a great opportunity for knowledge transfer -especially when it comes to implementing such complex projects and exploring various career perspectives in railway infrastructure.
SPITZKE regularly allows students to experience railway construction up close and gain hands-on insights into how modern technology is used to accomplish them. Our exciting large-scale infrastructure projects provides students a practical impression of their future dream careers withing the railway system.
