Together we create the future of mobility infrastructure together, whether for long-distance and regional trains, city and underground trains, trams or industrial railways, from planning to implementation, from construction through repair to maintenance. Exciting challenges and the most diverse tasks are always part of our work. SPITZKE’s success story began in the early 1990s with just 40 employees. Currently, this has grown to over 2,300 people who are committed to our mobility every day. We want to be at the forefront of technology in our industry. During planning, for instance, we work with laser-based surveying equipment which creates digital terrain models from survey point clouds. During execution, we use highly complex work trains, automatic welding units and rail-road excavators with computer-aided work modules. Thanks to the ideas and creativity surrounding us, our in-house innovation management team develops technological approaches which serve as role models in the industry. For us, this also includes creating the ideal working environment with state-of-the-art equipment for your entirely individual tasks.

Teamwork counts more than anything else for all of our projects – whether on our large machines, pulling overhead lines, planning or in the commercial area. Everything we accomplish, we accomplish together. This also applies to training. Throughout the training period, our training team is available to support all trainees. Experienced professionals from their respective trades share their wealth of experience and knowledge. We also provide confidential support for concerns and needs with our apprentice advice service – which is available for everyone. We are SPITZKE.

Depending on the department you work in, you can freely arrange your working hours and, if necessary, also work part-time in consultation with your manager. For example, in the commercial area, we have trust-based working hours and core working hours. On our construction projects, construction and project schedules mean that shift work is unavoidable. However, even here, it’s important for us to accommodate your individual wishes as far as possible. And if your 30-day holiday entitlement is not enough, we can also discuss a sabbatical or assist quickly and unbureaucratically with special leave for special life situations. For example, this is how we supported our working mothers and fathers with daycare and school closures caused by the pandemic.

Flexibility in your career life also means having the opportunity to work away from the office desk occasionally. If your position with us allows it, mobile working is not a problem within a predefined scope (two days per month) in consultation with your supervisor. We are happy to create the necessary conditions. Our office workstations and IT systems are designed for mobility.

We have had our own health management team at SPITZKE for many years. We are very passionate about keeping our employees healthy. At our company, you can expect a wide range of site-related sports activities, such as fitness courses or company runs. There are lectures on health and body-related topics, ergonomic consultations directly at the workplace, health days and much more. Would you like to update your immunization status? Together with cooperating doctors and our company doctors, we regularly offer vaccinations for influenza and tetanus at our sites and on-site projects.

We’ve had our own employee and management counseling service for many years. It’s available to our 2,300 employees on a confidential and, if necessary, anonymous basis. We help
Sometimes, life just goes crazy. However, even when things are hard, we don’t leave you alone.  We set up the non-profit SPITZKE FONDS e.V. to provide fast and unbureaucratic help to employees and their families who find themselves in an emergency situation through no fault of their own. There is a lot to discover with us. During the introductory event at our headquarters in Großbeeren, you’ll learn everything about our company group and your new apprenticeship. Your technical aptitude will be just as important as your team spirit. In addition to theory, there will be practical exercises in our training workshop. For example, you can really give 100% during the sporting events. Of course, getting to know each other will not be left out. You’ll get to know all of your apprentice peers as well as apprentices from other years over a meal and a relaxed evening. This is a perfect start to your new phase in life.

We are committed
As a major player in the rail system, we are committed to environmentally friendly and sustainable mobility every day. For this reason, we want to reduce our ecological footprint as much as possible. This not only applies to energy consumption. We also recycle ballasts and disused sleepers, use environmentally friendly lubricants, are increasing the use of electrical motors and provide charging stations at some of our locations. However, sustainability also means taking a long-term view in our strategic planning. For example, we train a large proportion of our skilled workers ourselves. We have helped create many major infrastructure projects in recent years, contributing our entire portfolio or expertise on most of them. These include the redesign of Berlin’s “Ostkreuz” station as well as the refurbishment of the high-speed line between Mannheim and Stuttgart as well as the electrification of the southern line at Lake Constance. We are consistently developing new concepts and strategies for our every changing environment and always update our processes.
