SPITZKE CAMP 2025 – The Success Story Continues

The SPITZKE CAMP is now well established and took place for the third time from April 14th– 17th. Many young people participated once again this year.

During the recent Easter break, the weather was on our side – unlike at the kickoff event in 2024. With bright sunshine and almost summer-like temperatures, our participants certainly couldn’t complain about typical April weather. However, they likely wouldn’t have complained anyway given the program we offered.

The first day began by welcoming the young participants, potential future SPITZKE apprentices, and by offering an opportunity for everyone to get to know one another.  This was followed by the distribution and explanation of personal protective equipment (PPE), a safety briefing and an introduction to SPITZKE. A tour of our facilities and a visit to our maintenance hall in Großbeeren were, of course, also part of the program. We also provided an overview of our many exciting apprenticeship possibilities.

On the second day, participants finally had the change to try things out and explore. This approach shaped the following two days as well. For example, they were able to try metalworking in our training center or practice welding using a simulator.  Other stations included activities such as creating paved surfaces, track construction focusing of track panel assembly and operating construction equipment (rerailing, linking, and excavator challenges). All activities were supervised and supported by our training coordinators and instructors.

We are already looking forward to the next SPITZKE CAMP!
