SPITZKE CAMP 2024 gets off to a successful start

Numerous young people took part in the first SPITZKE-CAMP in Großbeeren. Half of them already have apprenticeship contracts in their pockets. Participants at the first SPITZKE CAMP from April 2nd-5th were undeterred despite the unpredictable April weather. Nevertheless, they eagerly tried out typical track construction activities at individual stations. However first, after the welcome and introduction of the company group, safety clothing was distributed, and the obligatory safety briefing took place. Afterwards, an instructor led the students around the site in groups, explaining, for instance, the different machines and tools used in track construction. On the second day, it finally turned into a practical exercise and the students explored three prepared stations.

Station 1, “Civil Engineering”, was about how to produce paved surfaces and everything that needs to be considered when doing so.

At station 2, “Track Construction, Superstructure, Track Section Assembly”, the students could test their skills in assembling and disassembling small iron components.

At station 3, “Cable Civil Engineering Work”, participants learned how cables are laid in the context of railway infrastructure.

All good things come in threes, so on the third and final day of the SPITZKE Camp, the activities “Height Transfer in Civil Engineering” and “Performing Cutting Separations” were also on the agenda. Everyone got to know each other a little better during a barbecue, table tennis and quizzes and they even enjoyed a couple surprises.

We are already looking forward to the next SPITZKE-CAMP.
