The type DE 18 diesel locomotives will be put into service by our subsidiary, SLG SPITZKE LOGISTIK GmbH between the summer and the end of 2025.
SPITZKE’s corporate group includes SLG SPITZKE LOGISTIK GmbH. They serve as a European rail transport company, logistics service provider, and waste management specialist. The DE 18, a diesel locomotive with a central cab, is designed for both shunting and mainline operations, making it ideal for supplying SPITZKE group construction projects and performing transport services for our clients. With a power output of 1,800 kW, it meets the latest emission standards and is fuel-efficient, thanks to features like start-stop automation.
“The ten DE 18 locomotives are a perfect addition to the SPITZKE technical fleet. They address the increased challenges posed by growing order volumes, particularly with the upcoming corridor projects. They also offer a good compromise between the range of requirements and environmental compatibility in line with SPITZKE’s sustainability strategy,” says Mark Fisher, Chief Technical Officer at SPITZKE. In addition to the long-standing, trusting cooperation with Vossloh and the outstanding performance values of the DE 18, the high quality of the locomotives and the timely delivery options were decisive factors in our decision to invest a considerable amount here.”
