FH Erfurt Wins Student Competition 2024

In 2024, the FH Erfurt (University of Applied Sciences Erfurt) wins the student competition award along with the prize money. Students Hannes Jahn, Erik Klinski, Marc-Aurél Kopp, Jean-Luc Petzold, and Sebastian Stange won over the jury with their project work, dethroning TU Braunschweig, which had won the competition three times consecutively.

“On behalf of the entire SPITZKE group, I would like to warmly congratulate the team from the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt,” says Christian Krippahl, HR Director at SPITZKE SE and Board Member of the SPITZKE Academy, during the awards ceremony at InnoTrans 2024. “The decision was certainly not easy for our jury, as we again received numerous outstanding submissions this year. We are pleased that our student competition continues to excite young people about the opportunities in our industry and supports them on their professional journey.”

Effectiveness and Efficiency in Corridor Projects

The task for this year’s competition was particularly challenging and highly relevant. Participants were asked to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency in the execution of one of our corridor projects. This included evaluating preparation, framework conditions, and various trades with significant contributions, while also considering risks and opportunities.

We would also like to thank all other participants and universities for their inspiring submissions and interest in our student competition: Piravinija Perinpanayagam and Aron Welte from TU Braunschweig; Sina Moser from the University of Applied Sciences Munich (Hochschule München); as well as Magnus Fechler from the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt (Hochschule Darmstadt).

SPITZKE’s student competition is endowed with 10,000 euros for the winners and their university. It’s targeted at students from the fields of civil engineering, mechanical engineering, mechanical technology, and mechatronics. This year the FH Erfurt wins the Student Competition. Congratulations!
