Apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic for track-laying machines

From A for axle to Z for Z-axis – during your 3.5-year apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic (m/​f/​nb), you’ll work with our track laying machinery, tackle tricky tasks, and develop and monitor technical systems. You’ll gain comprehensive expertise and learn all the skills needed to maintain and service our technical equipment. To prepare you perfectly for your future job with us, you’ll work with our track laying machinery across the country during your apprenticeship.

As a trained industrial mechanic (m/​f/​nb), you’ll be responsible for professionally assembling, disassembling, maintaining, servicing and commissioning rail vehicles at SPITZKE. You’ll be responsible for manual and mechanical material processing as well as repairing and replacing assemblies. You’ll work in our workshop and on our Germany–wide construction sites, so the tasks you work on will be very varied.

What you will learn during your apprenticeship
  • Machinery: during your 3.5-year apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic (m/​f/​nb), we’ll teach you how to maintain, repair and service our machinery, equipment and technical systems. Our modern technical equipment has a lot to offer and includes track-laying trains, ballast cleaning machinery and trackhttps://www.spitzke.com/​maschinen/​fahrweg/​bettungsreinigung/​rm900s/ and turnout tamping machinery. In the first two years of your apprenticeship, the focus will be on working in our workshop. Over the next two years, you’ll learn to operate track laying machinery and support teams with their projects on the construction sites.
  • Getting started: you’ll learn metalwork using tools and machinery, produce individual device and machine components, install them in complex assemblies and check whether everything works as it should. You’ll be able to put your theoretical knowledge to use on our construction projects.
  • Teamwork: our experienced SPITZKE training team will be by your side to support you with your various tasks.
