Apprenticeship as a construction mechanic

As a trained construction mechanic (m/​f/​nb), you will produce components on machinery according to technical drawings and weld them into the finished end product – for example, we manufacture steel masts for railways up to 28 metres high. Your working days will involve using welding, punching and large drilling machinery in our workshop, and seeing how your contribution to construction becomes more comprehensive every day.

What you'ill learn during your apprenticeship
  • Planning: during your 3.5-year apprenticeship as a construction mechanic (m/​f/​nb), we’ll teach you to plan work flows as efficiently as possible even before the first work step.
  • Skills: you’ll gain all the necessary technical skills in construction technology, steel and metal construction, and various welding techniques, so you can use these to produce components according to technical drawings.
  • Variety: due to the huge variety of our products, our work is never boring and there are always new challenges for you to meet.
  • Teamwork: our experienced SPITZKE training team will be by your side to support you with your various tasks.
You should become a construction mechanic if you...
  • have completed secondary school or are about to do so.
  • enjoy maths, physics and technology.
  • think LEGO is too small and like to create and move big things.
  • have manual skills, an interest in technology and spatial imagination, as well as commitment and reliability.
