In August, a new cohort of 67 apprentices and students started the new training year at SPITZKE railway infrastructure company. A year ago, we reported a new record: 203 apprentices and dual students studied and trained at SPITZKE. This record has already been broken. There are now a total of 226 apprentices and students across SPITZKE Group.
The orientation week, organised by the second-year apprentices, was held in four groups this year due to COVID-19 precautions. The 67 newcomers got their first glimpse into the SPITZKE world and got to know each other better. They were particularly impressed by the training centre.
In addition to having a suitable number of junior staff, the quality of the training content is crucial for SPITZKE. That is why the training organisation is constantly being developed.
Our goal is to train the skilled workers of tomorrow and to integrate them seamlessly into the company’s daily operations. “We are particularly pleased about the high post-training hiring rate of almost 90% this year, as we were able to inspire a total of 41 young people from our graduating class to work for SPITZKE in the long term,” remarked Christian Krippahl, the director of human resources at SPITZKE SE.
This retention rate is to be maintained at the current high level and increased further. To achieve these goals, we are intensifying cooperation between the various divisions. Additionally, we are prioritizing improving the link between theory and practice in order to ensure that training meets the demands.
