Apprenticeship as a Civil Engineering Specialist with subsequent further training as a Cable Civil Engineer

As a Civil Engineering Specialist (m/f/d), you can expect a variety of tasks. You’ll be sent wherever tracks and points need repair, maintenance, or new construction. Things get exciting for you when you’re responsible for maintaining the rail networks for long-distance and regional trains, S-Bahns and U-Bahns, trams, and industrial railways. To ensure these systems stay functional and safe, you’ll lay tracks and points, replace sleepers, or renew track beds. Together with your colleagues (m/f/d), you’ll carry out ballast cleaning and renewal, as well as civil engineering tasks such as laying paving and asphalt surfaces and ensuring operational readiness and safety for rail traffic.

After successfully completing your apprenticeship, you’ll support our Equipment/Electrical Engineering division: You’ll take on execution of construction work independently as well as associated activities in cable construction on construction sites along the railway network. In addition, you’ll be responsible for tasks such as laying cable trough systems, installing shaft systems along and within the track area, and handling cable pulleys.
