The EMD continuous welded rail unloading system is a powerful machine for removing rails. It is designed for simultaneous unloading of two continuous welded rails between the rails or onto the ends of the sleepers of an existing track.

Functional characteristics
  • Equipped as flexible road-rail vehicle
  • Can be transported on the road and deployed on the track at level crossings
  • 240 metres of rails can be removed for 120 metres of track in 10 minutes (under optimum conditions)
  • One-sided removal is not possible
  • Road-rail trailer features: 2 rail carrying axles, a lifting and rotating device, a lifting platform with 2 rollers, hydraulic set, dynamo, radio control of all hydraulic functions, 2 lighting masts
  • Other components: 2 telescopic coupling rods, front guiding wagon, liftable guide rollers
  • Completion through a hydraulically driven track push-car for collecting the connecting fish plates
